Caitlin is very

Washington, DC, free of charge. She loves greeting

She shares this special moment from her visit which
corresponds to the photo below of her holding the
little girl:
"One of the most touching moments of the day was watching this little girl run up and hug one of the lady veterans in her wheel chair. It brought tears to my eyes, and I asked the little girl if she wanted to join me greeting. I gave her my flag to wave and she said "Thank you service" to this special hero as he came off the plane. I'm sure it is a moment he will never forget, a thank you from an American of our youngest generation to one of our oldest. It is certainly one I will never forget. Moments like these capture what it means to be American more than any words ever can." |

kindergartner said "She discovered America!" Needless to
say, the students were very excited to meet our Miss
Virginia! She started out her morning visiting kindergarten
classes, talking with students about the importance of
teamwork and kindness, and then got to visit a very special
group of students with special needs where her message
centered around embracing differences in ourselves and
others before presenting her school program to the 6th
grade. Thank you Fairfax Villa for a very memorable visit!

After leaving Triangle, it was off to Manassas, VA, for Miss Virginia, where she gave two more assemblies at Coles Elementary! In honor of her visit, the school pledged to fill up a "random acts of kindness" board to demonstrate their commitment to joining Caitlin's team of students standing up to bullying and spreading kindness. She can't wait to hear when they are done! |

ABC/Triangle Elementary School Picking right back up on her Virginia ABC-sponsored school tour, Caitlin gave two assemblies at Triangle Elementary school where she led the students in practicing encouraging and complimenting each other and recognizing each other's strengths. After her presentations, she joined a table of first graders in the cafeteria for lunch, and had a hard time getting out the door because of all the spontaneous hugs!
