Miss America 2012 Badge Information

Information for ordering badges for Miss America 2012 with the Virginia delegation:

Due to increasing costs, the price of the 2012 Miss America Badge has been raised to $40.00.  This is the first time in four (4) years that there is an increase. However, MAO is offering everyone the opportunity to take advantage of the 2011 price of $35.00 per badge for all badge orders received complete with photo CD and full payment before September 20!!!!  Any order received after September 20 or incomplete, will be charged the new 2012 price of $40.00 each.  In addition, any badge order received at MAO after Friday, December 16^th will be charged the Las Vegas “on-site” price of $55.00 per badge.  Badges requested in Las Vegas require State ED approval, or the approval of Contestant’s Parents for family and friends.  Replacement cost for a lost badge is $55.00 regardless of the initial payment price. 

Given the badge cost information above, note that I must RECEIVE your badge order and payment NO LATER THAN TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 20 in order to include it with the first state order under the 2011 cost of $35.  If I do not receive your order in time to process at the 2011 cost, then I must RECEIVE your order and payment no later than Tuesday, November 8.   I would encourage you to take advantage of the earlier rate.  Please identify any children and their ages, as I must list them separately on our state order forms.  All badge payments must be by check or money order, made payable to “Miss Virginia Organization” and mailed to:

 Please note the following information about badges:

·         Badges allow access to: Open Rehearsals (cameras not permitted), the Miss America Trade Show and Contestant Visitation. 

·          All badges require a recent photograph of the proposed badge holder.  If the proposed badge holder was issued a badge to the 2010 or 2011 National Finals, then their photo is on file.  MAO does not have photos on file from badges issued 2009 or earlier. 

·         Less than (5) photos required can be e-mailed. More than five photos submitted by the same individual must be sent on CD (contact Toni for details, as there is a form required to be sent with this). All photos must be .jpg files.   Email badge files to badge@missamerica.org, and be sure to identify (for each photo) your NAME, STATE AFFILIATION, and RELATIONSHIP TO MISS VIRGINIA (state volunteer, state Board member, family, friend, local pageant director or volunteer).  Photos must be submitted by November 18, and should be sent directly to MAO, NOT to me.

·         Badges must be kept clear of any stick-on logos or slogans. 

·          Badges are the property of the Miss America Organization and may only be used by the person whom it is issued.  Sharing of badges is a serious security breach and will result in badge confiscation and removal of both parties from the event.  A Miss America Organization official may at their discretion, revoke the use of a badge at any time.
