Schools for almost three years.  She is currently employed as an

Coletta Schreier Scholarship Foundation

Coletta Schreier, Mark’s mother, passed away on Saturday, April 10,

during our Miss Virginia workshop.  Because of her love and years of

volunteerism for the Miss America Organization, her family has formed

the “Coletta Schreier Foundation, LLC” to provide additional annual

scholarship funds for the Miss Virginia Scholarship Program.  Memorial

contributions can be made by sending a check, payable to the “Coletta

Schreier Foundation, LLC”, to:  Valley Bank "Coletta Schreier Foundation"

                                P.O. Box 2740  Roanoke, VA  24001-9904.

Mark; his son, Matthew; his father, Norbert; and sister, Janine; extend their deepest appreciation

to everyone who has reached out to them with kind words, cards, and prayers during this tragic time.

Coletta was a strong woman of deep faith who helped with nearly every aspect of the local Miss
Wisconsin prelim that Mark started as a college freshman in their hometown of 800 people in 1983.

She was extremely proud of everyone involved with the Miss Virginia Organization – at the local and

state levels – when Caressa was crowned Miss America, and she was totally amazed with her talent!

Coletta loved listening to talented singers and watching outstanding performers, and passed on her love

for music and theatre to Mark and his sister.  While she’s extremely missed,  her family knows she’s

one of God’s newest Angels watching over all of us associated with the Miss Virginia Organization.

Latest News around the Miss Virginia Family

I want to let you know about my latest project and maybe you could forward the info to the Miss Virginia Pageant Family.  I just served as Executive Producer of a Christmas CD called "Christmas Along the Crooked Road" which, as you know, is Virginia's Heritage Music Trail.  We have a website for ordering.

Go to www.christmasalongthecrookedroad.com  The bios and songs are all on the website.  These are all  stellar musicians...the best there is with impeccable credentials as you will read.  I'm sending you my favorite by the fiddler Jimmy Edmonds.

These musicians have taken me back to my roots in Virginia.  They are the best of the best.  I particularly love Santa Claus is Coming to Town by the JAM kids.  Junior Appalachian Musicians.  So adorable.
